Welcome To The Gold Coast

The colours of Australia's, green and gold, are in kaleidoscopic abundance under a clear blue sky on the Gold Coast of Queensland; Australia's favourite holiday destination. The region's 70km coastline stretches from Southport to Coolangatta and basks in more than 300 days of sunshine each year.

Your Gold Coast holiday is a combination of nature's best and a host of shopping and theme attractions that have been specially built to excite and interest visitors for days on end. Looking north from Surfers Paradise

Beautiful Beaches

Surfing beaches with such alluring names as Palm Beach, Rainbow Bay, Mermaid Beach and Surfers Paradise offer soft golden sand, rolling waves and the opportunity to get a bonus, free suntan or the perfect setting for a walk along the shoreline at sunset. The clean, uncrowded beaches may be the main thing visitors are looking for in a holiday and the Gold Coast has them all in abundance. Enjoy and relax.

Hinterland

The green hinterland of the Gold Coast is not out of reach for visitors who travel to the region by air. Indeed, Sunlover Holidays has gathered the best local tour operators to offer a range of informative and eco-tourism based tours to unlock this special part of the region. Towering waterfalls, crystal clear mountain streams, perhaps a picnic in a world heritage listed rainforest - the choice is endless and is sure to please, so take advantage of our hinterland car hire.

Good Food

The Gold Coast offers an array of cafés, bars, cocktail lounges, and restaurants. The major dining precinct, or eat street, is in Broadbeach, where you can find a vast array of cuisines. Sushi bars, Italian, fine dining, 24 hour cafés, wine bars, cocktail bars, seafood, surf clubs, dance clubs, and of course fast food restaurants. It’s not just Broadbeach that has all the exciting holiday food for you to indulge in – check out Tedder Ave in Main Beach, Surfers Paradise for the largest variety of restaurants, particularly Circle on Cavill and Cavill Avenue, and Burleigh for some great local Gold Coast delights…

Shopping and Fashion

So popular and competitively priced is the shopping on the Gold Coast that organised shopping sprees of up to five days duration are being organised on a package tour basis from that previously recognised world shopping capital, Singapore. So for visitors, it's the place to shop till they drop.
Indeed, for the avid shopper, the Gold Coast is an experience of a lifetime perfectly supplied with an amazing array of shopping resorts, innovative boutiques and theme shopping villages. Cruise boats meander north from the centre of Surfers Paradise along sheltered waterways to Sanctuary Cove where the waterfront marine village has shops selling the best of Australian designer labels and creative handicrafts.
Water taxis depart from the wharf at the river-end of Cavill Ave in Surfers Paradise and travel through the residential canal estates to Queensland's largest shopping centre - Pacific Fair. The centre is laid out in a village style, and includes hundreds of speciality shops and Myer department store. Another great shopping centre is the Robina Town Centre; a $300 million extravaganza of department stores and scores of speciality shops. A comprehensive range of surf and leisure clothing is available in all shopping precincts, reflecting the region's beach lifestyle.
For the bargain hunters who like their brands – you can not go past Harbour Town in Biggera Waters. You will find all the big brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Marcs, David Jones, Oroton, Esprit, Sheridan, Witchery, Nike, Lorna Jane, R.M. Williams, Mambo, Bendon, Blockout, Cue, Seduce, Lisa Ho, Calvin Klein, Diesel, Colorado, Just Jeans, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Canterbury, Cult, Rip Curl, Fossil, and so much more at up to 60% off - or more! Finish your outlet shopping adventure with a good movie at Reading Cinemas, and dinner at the many restaurants in the centre. What more could you want? Useful Link: www.harbourtown.com.au.

Westfield Helensvale is another new enormous shopping
center to hit the Gold Coast. It is perfect for all of the family, and will keep everyone entertained for hours with school holiday fun for the kids, cinemas, a huge variety of dining options, and of course over 170 different retail outlets!

The latest to hit the Gold Coast with the ultimate in fashion, fun and indulgent hospitality is the new Circle On Cavill! This retail precinct on ground level features an open air piazza with a big (massive) screen TV to show all the greats on TV (aka footy…). There are numerous alfresco cafés, restaurants and bars, coupled with fabulous shopping – innovative Australian fashion labels – Billabong, napoleon perdis, Zimmermann, SABA, Bettina Liano, T.O.Y and other specialty stores. There is even a fresh food precinct with a diverse range of essential services. And don’t forget to check out Strike Bowling Bar! See www.circleoncavill.com.au

Minus5 is the coolest experience on the Gold Coast. It is a truly unique attraction for the whole family. The temperature is kept at a chilly minus 5 degrees all year round; it’s a great way to cool off this summer and a cool place to chill out with friends in the heart of the Gold Coast!...

On the Gold Coast, shopping hours in the big centres normally operate Monday - Wednesday 9.00am to 5.30pm, Thursday 9.00am to 9.00pm, Saturday 8.30am to 5.30pm, Sunday 10.30am to 4.00pm. However in Surfers Paradise many retail shops stay open til 10pm – so you can literally shop til you drop here on the Gold Coast!

The Gold Coast Titans are sending shock waves through the Gold Coast community with their recent successes on field. Check out www.titans.com.au to find when their next game is – hopefully at Carrara Stadium so you can be amongst the home crowd! And if you can't get to a game – be sure to indulge in a few drinks and a meal at the Titanium bar in Surfers Paradise.

The Gold Coast airport in Coolangatta is obviously the most convenient airport for any Gold Coast visitors, see www.goldcoastairport.com.au
